Dr. Avitzur has appeared on numerous TV and radio programs including The Today Show, The CBS Early Show, Good Morning America, and NPR. She has also been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA Today.
Medical Writing
Dr. Avitzur has written for numerous consumer and professional publications. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Brain & Life, the American Academy of Neurology patient and caregiver magazine. She wrote the Proactive Patient column for Consumer Reports where she served as the Medical Director between 2015-2018 and Medical Editor from 2008-2018.
Speaking & Teaching
Dr. Avitzur speaks frequently on current health care issues, physician-patient communication, medical technology and neurologic conditions and treatments. Dr. Avitzur is a lecturer at the Yale University School of Medicine and an Assistant Professor at the New York Medical College.
